Satoshi Radio

I made one of my earliest NoGood illustrations in 2021 – a drawing of a Raspberry Pi bitcoin node. At the time, I didn't have a specific purpose for the illustration so I asked Bart Mol, host of my favorite Dutch bitcoin podcasts Satoshi Radio, if he would like to use it. It was the start of a close friendship, and we have collaborated on a wide range of projects since.

That same year we decided to give the podcast a visual update and found that we shared a similar vision from the start. Drawing inspiration from retro NASA badges and 80's graphics, we transformed the show into a broadcast station navigating the edges of the bitcoin frontier, transmitting updates to it's listeners back on earth.

Satoshi Radio frequently involves their community in hands-on projects. Their Nodezaak videos, which demonstrate how to run a bitcoin node on a Raspberry Pi at home, have contributed to the Netherlands having one of the highest percentages of bitcoin and Lightning nodes. In 2024 they set up a home mining pool and sold over 360 Bitaxes - small, energy-efficient home miners - to community members.
